The 17th March 2020 was a very strange day. During the early weeks of 2020, I had been looking forward to taking our little boy to his first St. Patrick’s Day Parade, here in the west of Ireland.
We thought he had got to the stage where he wouldn’t be scared by all the activity, and would love watching the passing floats, performers, community groups and machinery (especially machinery)!
Of course, when the day itself dawned, things were very different. The closest we got to a parade was watching tractors passing about their business out on the road.
In fairness, this is always exciting for Little Man, so he was happy.
At the time, I naively thought that 2021 would be different. But it looks like we’ll be at home for our national holiday once again.
So it’s just as well that making memories as a family doesn’t only depend on getting out to events and activities.
